34 Ave Dental is an Edmonton based dental practice led by Dr. Sam Huang. Our team provides personalized care for children, adults, and families in a calm and comfortable environment.
Serving the community for decades, the practice was originally started by Dr. Graves in 1989 and continues today under the care of Dr. Sam Huang, who took over the clinic in 2016.
While the practice has grown and evolved, the focus remains consistent: personalized dental care, clear communication, and a comfortable patient experience.

Meet Dr. Sam Huang
Dr. Sam Huang, known by many patients as Dr. Sam, graduated from the University of Manitoba, Faculty of Dentistry, in 2013. He is fluent in English and Mandarin and has experience working with patients of all ages.
Dr. Huang is well involved in the community as a Rotary Club member and, in his spare time, enjoys spending time with his wife and their son, taking road trips to the mountains, swimming and basketball.

Dr. Huang is known for his commitment to providing the highest quality of care to his patients. He takes time to communicate, educate, and help patients understand why treatment may be recommended before moving forward with care.
Dr. Huang’s clinical interests and training include orthodontics, laser dentistry, oral and nitrous sedation, complex extractions, cosmetic dentistry, traditional wire braces, Invisalign clear braces, restorative implants, root canal treatment, dentures, and restorative dentistry.

Orthodontics
Dr. Sam Huang is a member of the International Association of Orthodontics (IAO) and has a special interest in orthodontic care for patients of all ages.

Early childhood orthodontic intervention using expanders, early Class II correction, and habit-breaking appliances

Moderate to severe crowding treated with braces or Invisalign, using non-extraction approaches in most cases

Class II and Class III correction using Carriere Motion appliances in combination with Invisalign

Deep bite correction using braces or Invisalign
Dental Implants & Bone Grafting

Fully guided Straumann implant surgery using CBCT-guided planning, along with implant crown restoration

Guided Bone Regeneration (GBR) to build bone and prepare sites for dental implants

Socket preservation following tooth extraction to help preserve bone for future implant placement
Endodontics
Root canal treatment, including complex calcified root canals and select root canal re-treatment.
Laser Dentistry
Soft tissue laser treatments including gum recontouring, gingivectomy, tongue-tie and frenectomy procedures, fibroma removal, cold sore and ulcer treatment, and treatment for muscle pain related to the temporomandibular joint (TMJ).
Digitally Designed & Fitted Dentures
We use iTero digital scanning to capture the teeth and dental arch without traditional impressions. Dentures can then be digitally designed and printed for a precise fit.
Sedation Dentistry
Oral sedation with Halcion and N2O (laughing gas) is available for adults and children who experience dental anxiety.
Restorative Dentistry

TMD Treatment
For patients who clench or grind their teeth, Dr. Huang offers anterior deprogrammers to help reduce TMJ-related symptoms. Laser treatment may also be used to help reduce muscle pain in the TMJ area.
